very nice detailing on the skin and face I think you've done a good job of capturing the setting and space thing but she kind of looks like she's floating a little bit... Like her foot doesn't really have anything its standing on. That could probably be fixed by adding some more footholds and jutting bits to the rock, or to angle her foot a different way, because the rock looks steep, but her foot doesn't look like it's matching. Just one other thing, her back leg looks a little out of proportion, it looks much smaller than her front leg and kinda seems like, her foot shouldn't dissapear completely. I like the highlights on her chest/neck area... but the light should also be on her arm (the light source seems to be directly above it). To me, it seems the highlights should be on the left of the drawing, and not so much on the right (unless there's additional light sources). I think just adding a little bit of highlight on the left side of her face and the top of her arm... plus the gun, will help the overall look of the drawing All that being said, clearly you have talent and have done a good job P.S, I like the mist hehe
First time writing a critique in this manner, so here we go. xD
I do like this over all. Really. Love the color of her dress/suit and how the gun actually matches it. Doesn't seem like a practical outfit to go climbing rocks in, but that's not really the point.
Agree with the previous critique on the highlights and how her leg seems to be floating. You could angle her foot down instead of at the outward angle, so she's pushing herself up or about to. I do wish the image was a little brighter, which is why I rated you a little lower on impact, since it doesn't have a real air of danger or the like to me. I am curious as to what she's aiming her gun at, though!
I do like your misty effects. They're lovely. There seems to be something off about her folded leg to me, though...like you should be able to see part of her foot or something.
Anyway, overall I do like the image Are we going to get to see her again? Also, you can never have too much Star Trek.
wow, this one is really nice! i like the shading and the posture.. and the tone of colors you've chosen. it's realistic and still futuristic. also, background looks poorly. you could play more with it, because it kind of decreases the level of whole picture. but i still like it
what a beautiful work of art i am immediately drawn to her wonderful bust
some crits, i think the rocks could be a bit more hard edged & her left hand disappears too suddenly behind the rock, maybe you could draw her fingers so that it looks as though she using that hand to balance as well.
No modern digital or brush artist should lack a space girl in their portfolio. Thank you for fulfilling your requirements.
Nice use of backlighting. The silhouetting, especially of the arm, is an interesting and dramatic choice. The muted colors also add to the spacey, not-of-this-world quality but in a realistic way. Good retro look, especially in the laser-phaser-disrupter gun.
Oh man, I used to watch TNG while doing my homework too! That really takes me back. And when that wasn't on, I'd pop in a VHS tape of The Smurfs my brother recorded for me off Cartoon Network. Those were the days!
haha VHS. ah the good old days. I had VHS recordings of my favorite shows too. I wasn't into the smurfs though. But I recorded Space Ghost, Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Lab, and all those cartoons back when cartoon network was good.
